Artificial intelligence is everywhere right now. New tools, new possibilities, and new promises seem to emerge every day. But for many nonprofits, membership organisations, and charities, the question isn't whether AI exists, it's where it can genuinely add value.
At Compuco, we're interested in AI for the same reason we're interested in any technology: because of its potential to help organisations achieve their mission more effectively.
We also recognise that AI raises important questions. Concerns around privacy, security, transparency, governance, and accuracy are entirely valid, particularly for organisations that work with sensitive data and place trust at the heart of what they do. As we explore AI, we're committed to doing so thoughtfully and responsibly, ensuring that people remain in control and that technology supports human decision-making rather than replacing it.
With that in mind, we're excited to be exploring how AI can enhance the CRM experience through CiviAI, a collection of AI-powered innovations we're developing within CiviPlus.
Our focus is on practical applications that help organisations make better use of the information they already have.
Ask questions, access insights, and get context-aware support directly within Civi. Designed to help users find information faster and work more efficiently.
Automatically generate summaries, notes, and other content using data already stored in your CRM. Helping teams save time and make better use of their data.
These innovations are designed to reduce administrative effort, improve access to insights, and make CRM data more accessible across organisations.
It's important to emphasise that these are early innovations.
We're actively developing, testing, and refining these ideas, learning from clients, partners, and the wider community as we go. Our goal isn't to introduce AI for the sake of it, but to identify practical ways it can help organisations work more effectively while maintaining control, transparency, and trust.
We're also committed to flexibility. Different organisations will have different requirements, policies, and levels of comfort with AI technologies. Any future AI capabilities should support those differences rather than impose a one-size-fits-all approach.
The conversation around AI is still evolving, and so is our understanding of where it can deliver meaningful value.
What excites us most is not the technology itself, but the opportunity to help organisations spend less time searching for information, managing administration, and navigating complexity and more time focusing on their mission.
We're looking forward to continuing that exploration with our clients, partners, and the wider CiviCRM community as we shape the future of CiviAI together.
CiviAI is just the beginning, and we're excited to explore what's possible together.
